Here are some of the things you can look forward to at JR Pitch 2011:
Four United General Sessions
In the past two years we have rotated everyone through 3 separate venues for session times. This year we return to a single venue and will have everyone meeting in the same place at the same time. Every session includes Graeme Watt teaching through stories and scripture, complementary illustrations and entertainment by illusionist, David Coverly and celebration and praise led by Breathe Worship. Aaron White, our in-house DJ, will also provide background tracks for our sessions. You can read more about these guests under guest info.
JR Factor (NEW)
This is a new twist on the old concept of a talent show. There will be 4 categories including Dance, Song, Skit and Air Band. Each category has specific acts that student may choose from. We will accept one entry/group in each category. Auditions will be held starting Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. The crowd favourites in each category will perform in a final show at 10 p.m. Saturday evening. Teams must have a minimum of 4 people and will have 60 seconds to perform during the auditions. Advance prep will definitely be helpful. An info sheet with the options in each category and the fine details of the competition is available here.
The Anything Goes Race
This builds on last year’s very successful mass event. The object is to get from the start to the finish line before your opponents. The rules are:1) Each team consists of 1 Leader and 4 students. 2) Rider must be lying on something. 3) No one can be touching the rider during the race. 4) If the rider touches the ground during the race the team is disqualified.
Urban Hang-Out & Skate Park
This year our gym will be transformed into an Urban Hang-Out complete with skate park, climbing wall, DJ music, snacks, etc. Note that skaters will need to bring their own boards. Helmets and waiver forms are also required. Waiver forms are available on our web site and require a parent’s signature.
Sports Tournaments
Sports tournaments run on Saturday afternoon. This year we've added ball hockey to the line-up. Sign up for one or more tournaments when you arrive on Friday night. The options are:

Homes for Haiti Offering
Homes for Haiti provides sustainable housing for victims of last year’s earth quake in Haiti. We would like to try to raise over $2,000 this year, so please promote this opportunity with your group. Details on the type of homes that are provided are available here.
Additional Electives
There are lots of other things to do at JR Pitch including video games tournaments, handcrafts, table games, inflatable games, workshops on DJing, and performing simple illusions, etc. Bring along some extra cash for the book store and tuck shops which will be open throughout the weekend.
